Trump administration imposed ban on laptops and several electronic devices
According to the latest updates of White House, the administration of US President Donald Trump has imposed the new restrictions on the laptops and other electronic devices carried by the travelers coming to the United States. The ban is imposed from 10 airports that mainly includes Middle East countries and the North Africa.
This decision is taken in response to the terror threats that are not specified. US Department of Homeland Security officials will now check the electronic devices of passengers coming to the United States from Jordan, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Qatar and Morocco. They would check all the electronic devices, which are larger than the cell phones including:
- Portable DVD players
To the shock of everyone around the world, United Kingdom is also following it for the travelers of these countries. In order to improve the security, these rules are known as the major steps. This has been seen as the beginning of a trade war with Muslim countries and considered as the decision after a burst of statements during US presidential elections.
Due to frequent business or other tours, people used to carry their personal items such as cell phones, laptops, digital recorders, cameras and other electronic items. Putting these electronic items into luggage is considered as an unimaginable option by a number of people. Now these electronics will be handed to the porters and handlers at the airports.
It is clear that terrorist cell are spread around the globe and not specific countries have these terror hubs. Explosions can also take place in the cargo areas and the chances are surely greater than with a person. It is sad that technologically advanced countries like US and UK are providing discriminatory solutions against the terrorism. This will negatively effect the trade as well as on the revenue of airlines.
