Shahid Afridi to host Shan-e-Ramadan on ARY Digital in 2017
Sensational Pakistan’s former all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi would be hosting a Ramadan transmission this year. The retired cricketer is trying his luck on the television screen for the first time.
According to the reports, he would now host ‘Shan-e-Ramadan’ on ARY Digital, a local channel of Pakistan. During his 20 years long cricketing career, Afridi entertained a number of Pakistani cricket fans. This announcement came on Sunday.
During the show, he would be assisted by Waseem Badami, a well-known political as well as the anchor Iqrar ul Hassan. Both of them welcomed the flamboyant all-rounder, amid shooting the promo for the 2017 transmission.
Shahid Afridi is picked for the premier transmission of Pakistan’s leading channel after Junaid Jamshed lost his life on December 19, 2016. Junaid Jamshed hosted the ‘Shan-e-Ramadan’ transmission till 2016. He lost his life in the PK-661 crash, last year.
Following the Pakistan Super League season 2 success with Peshawar Zalmi, Afridi came close to the ARY management. He has also parted his ways with the team and signed with the Karachi Kings.
The decision to join Karachi Kings was taken, prior to hosting this mega transmission. It is expected that his fans will follow him and the transmission would be a major success.
