It is more painful, when regular food items such as flour, oil, rice, tomatoes and other items are rising in this holy month.
People think, Inflation is really a curse for them. There is no doubt that Ramadan brings blessings as well as unlimited happiness, but due to poor management of government, middle and lower class are dejected in this holy month. Several people are unable to break their fast with healthy food, just because of higher prices.

In other months, middle and lower class families try to control their household expenditures on various items. According to the reports, more than 85% stated that their household expenditures increase in Ramadan. The rising prices seem to be a constant problem, as people felt that the rates of food and other grocery items increased to past Ramadans. Less than 15% have the opinion that the prices are under their control.
When asked, most of the people agreed that increase in the prices of various food items are affecting their other household expenses. Most of them agreed that fruits and vegetable prices increased, between 50 to 70%. This trend is persistent and the things are getting worse every year.
For the best interest of people, provincial and federal government should do something serious to control inflation. At least in the month of Ramadan, the people should be able to eat quality food including fruits, meat, milk and other healthy items.
