Manchester United aims to win the UEFA Europa League
Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho openly shows his intentions and spoke about winning the Europa League for the club. He wants to make a club history and aims to win the Europa League for the first time in club history. It is a different competition and he is looking to lead the team to a new level.
The continent’s second-tier trophy has become extremely important for the manager. There is no other reason, why the trophy is United’s first priority. Barclays Premier League trophy is now out of club’s reach and they are looking to earn something for the remainder of this 2016/17 campaign. This trophy is more than UEFA Champions League qualification for both manager and the team. Mourinho is going to make his debut season with a trophy success.
If Manchester United fail to win the UEFA Europa League, then their target would be League Cup and a top-four place in the Premier League. Portugese understands the importance of winning the League and other trophies. Winning both trophies would mean a better performance than the job as Louis Van Gaal did. This would be a single strong answer as well as the justification about disappointing 2016/17 Premier League season.
Many observers claim that 2016/17 Premier League season looks very different for United. They had a lot of missed chances and so many frustrating draws with mid-table and relegation threatened teams. There were not a lot of injuries, so this situation certainly merits for them.
Undoubtedly, missed chances or bad finishing is a deeper problem than bad luck. Anthony Martial was also misused and in many matches, they go defensive. This cost them a draw against Swansea City at the last weekend.
Under Jose Mourinho, United has a lot to offer in several ways, than just good finishing or attacking play.
