Iran is looking to stand against the Trump’s administration policies
According to the latest news from Tehran, Iran, their hard-liners are hoping to take benefit in the upcoming election from the rise of US President Donald Trump. They stated that they needs a brave and tough leader to stand against the American policies against Islamic Republic.
Hard-liners are looking to confront the US and it’s a right time for a revolutionary diplomacy. Iran was on better terms with US in the past four years due to conciliatory policy under their President, Hassan Rouhani. They feel energized by the repeated criticism of Trump’s administration about the landmark 2015 nuclear deal. This agreement found little support among the Trump’s administration, as they feel Iran didn’t satisfied with the way of sanctions relief.
It is also noticed that a hard-liners group is looking to form a Popular Front of Islamic Revolution Forces. This has been noticed last year and they are considering more than a dozen potential candidates for this activity. So far, they have not settled on one to run against their President Hassan Rouhani and the elections are less than two months away.
One potential Presidential candidate, Mohsen Rezaei, has also lashed out at the current administration of Iran. Rezaei is a former elite Revolutionary Guard chief. He is criticizing the administration for lacking the revolutionary spirit. In a number of statements, he used tough words to the administration that created the current Iranian governmental system. He clearly mentioned that while trying to find a prescription for problems, a group of officials have been hopeless due to the decisions of administration outside the revolutionary framework.
Due to instable situation in the election team, it is hard to understand, which candidates are declared for the candidates.
Meanwhile, the administration of US has implemented additional sanctions against Iran over their ballistic missile program due to security threats. On Sunday, they put Iran on notice and clearly stated that they will not tolerate the efforts of Iran to destabilize the region and jeopardize the security of Israel. At first, this warning came in February 2017, when Iran test-fired their ballistic missile.
