Intelligence Agencies foiled a terrorist attack, planned for Easter
Pakistani Intelligence Agencies have efficiently foiled a highly destructive terrorist attack in the Punjab capital, Lahore. According to the reports of ISPR on Saturday, the attack was planned for Easter.
The press release from the military media wing stated that the security forces conducted a special operation in Lahore. The operation was intelligence-based and was made near the Punjab Housing Societies. During this operation, a terrorist was killed and a female suspect was also arrested by the security forces.
Two officers and two soldiers were also injured in the operation. The report is showing that explosive material including suicide jackets were also recovered from the suspects. On Sunday April 16, Easter, the religious festival of Christians will be celebrated by them.
This successful security forces intelligence-based operation comes a day, when at least nine terrorists were killed by Punjab Rangers, Counter-Terrorism Department and intelligence agencies near Dera Ghazi Khan in a joint operation. In this operation, three soldiers were also martyred.
According to the reports of ISPR, this joint operation was carried out in the early morning today against the TTP terrorists and their facilitators or partners. All of them were hideout in Basti Dadwani near Choti Zerin. The area is 15 Km South of Dera Ghazi Khan.
In the exchange of fire, Havaldar Asif, Sepoy Aftab, and Sepoy Azizullah, the three Pakistan Rangers soldiers were martyred. Two injured soldiers sustained injuries in this joint operation. On late Friday, police and security agencies also killed a terrorist in a separate operation. They also apprehended three accomplices of the terrorist in Lahore.
Different sources also claimed that police, intelligence agencies and security forces also conducted a joint combining operation in the Lahore Factory Area. In the hour long operation, the officials seized a suicide vest, detonators, and arms from the detained terrorists.
