August 15 – A day to remember as Independence Day of India
August 15 is a great day for the Indian people. It is celebrated as the Independence Day of India, as they got freedom after years of Britain slavery. This was also the end of British rule in Sub-continent and since then people are celebrating it annually.
For every parent, it is good to let their small kids know about Independence. Schools must have to teach the students and ask them to write simple essay on Independence Day. If you are a parent, then ask your kid to write an essay or participate in a writing competition on August 15.
This day is considered as one of the luckiest day in the Indian history. After years of sacrifices and struggles, people of India won the freedom. The struggle started from the freedom fighters, but it was the efforts of their greatest leaders to bring joy for the people.
Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru was the first prime minister, who unfurled the tricolour National Flag in the National Capital, New Dehli. The ceremony was held at the Red Fort. Since then, people rejoice this day with the great ecstasy every year.
During the Independence celebration, the March Post was performed by the army and students performed in the cultural events. Prime Minister of India gives his annual speech after the national flag hosting and country’s national anthem.
The day has been declared as the national holiday. All the schools, offices, organizations and other places remain closed on August 15. Usually, school students participate in sports and cultural events on the day of Independence
Celebrating this event mean we honor all the great people, who had sacrificed their lives as well as the loved ones in the making of an Independent country.
